Ideas From The Four Agreements

Wow… I was literally blown away when I read The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz.

In his book, he shares four powerful ideas which I think would benefit any person greatly in their professional and personal lives. Let me share the jist of it with you.

1. Be Impeccable with your word

Simply put, do everything you tell yourself you want to do. Every minute, every hour everyday,  be it to run 6 laps, write an e-book or make that uncomfortable conversation with your spouse. The more you exercise your integrity muscles, the happier you will be and also the results you will have.Keeping to your word will give you an enourmous positive impact on your self-confidence and happiness.

2. Don’t take anything personally

Doesn’t matter if your boss scolds the hell out of you, some random stranger cusses at you or someone laughed because you left your pants unzipped. The minute you start to not take things personally, you will immediately feel more happier and also confident in yourself. Besides, what people think of you is nowhere as  important as what you think of yourself. So how have you been thinking of yourself lately?

3. Don’t make assumptions

Making negative assumptions is the best way to get nothing done. It’s just another excues for mediocrity and procrastination. How do you know that things aren’t going to go your way until you have tried it? For now, get rid of all assumptions and take action! The best way to overcome fear is to move! Get started, take those few baby steps and once you have momentum, you’ll be like an unstoppable train.

4. Always do your best

Not doing your best in everything you do is like selling yourself short. It also means you are not living life to your fullest potential. C’mon, we’ve been put on this earth to achieve great things! So let’s just go out there and achieve it! Right now, make everything you do in life the best you can – cooking an egg, writing an articles or speaking in front of an audience.

In a nutshell, this book has some really, really powerful ideas and it resonates real well with me and I think you should go and check it out. Give it a short experiment. Apply the four agreements in your life for the next 48 hours and i’m sure you’ll start to feel the difference =)

I feel compelled to write about the right mindset home business owners should adopt to become highly successful working from home.

Self Discipline

As we all know, not having to wake up to be in the office at 9am seems like the ideal life, but before we reach that level, we have to discipline ourselves to be able to produce solid results at home.

For example, I have a friend who sells insurance who wakes up at 12 noon daily. If the normal office worker starts work at 9am, he would have just wasted 3 hours of potential work. Your time is more flexible now but we have to train ourselves to adopt a productive lifestyle.

Efficiency Vs Effectiveness

This is a very powerful concept that home business owners should pay attention to closely. Efficiency is defined as doing things right in an efficient manner. Effectiveness is defined as doing the right things. Here’s the problem: being efficient is good, but not when you are doing things that serve no true purpose. The key is to be effective by doing things which bring you closer to your goals. Don’t act busy by doing things that won’t bring you closer to your end goal such as checking your email 20 times a day or reading unnecessary information on the internet. Speaking of goals…

Perseverence

By far one of the most important mindsets you should have is perseverence. Many people tend to give up after not making a single sale after many months. Most people quit when they are almost there. To quote Anthony Robbins: God’s delays are not God’s denials. You will only see the sunshine once you weather out the storm. Also, if you aren’t seeing any results after much perseverance, it could be a sign that something you are doing is wrong. Take this as an action signal for you to tweak your business and keep experimenting until you find what works best for you.

Internet marketing boasts many giants. But is it possible for the little guy to succeed in this cut throat industry?
 
It all depends on the niche.

After all, you do not pit the featherweights against the heavyweights. You can target big niches for more money and you can target small niches for small money.

There are many ways to maneuver a big niche without being swamped by the competition. One of the ways is to combine two big niches together to create a rare sub or synergy niche.

Another way is to use private label rights which allow you to buy them at a cheap price and edit the content any way you want.
 
You can paste your name as the author and you have the rights to do so. You don’t have to worry about plagiarism because you basically bought the rights to it like having the keys to a new house.

Basically you own it.

Combining two big niches isn’t very hard.

All you need to do is find private label materials in that particular niche.

Everyone knows that the personal development industry is one of the biggest, if not the biggest online market in the world. People spend tons of money on affirmations, motivational books, fighting addictions, improving their relationships, audio tapes and even video recordings. Seminar tickets pop up every single day.

A Date With Destiny

Paul was an old man whose biggest dream was to play in a major leagues of baseball. After many years struggling in the minor leagues, he finally got his big break when he was given the chance to play in one major league game.

However, the whole match he was warming the bench. At was then at the last moment when the coach told him “Kid, get in there!”

Paul ran as fast as he could. Finally his dream could come true. Sadly, all he did was stand on the pitch wishing the ball got thrown somewhere near him. After that game he was sent back to the minor leagues. He was devastated. He knew he would never be able to fulfill his dream. He decided to quit playing baseball and become a medical doctor.

Fast forward 50 years later, Paul is now an old frail man, retired, sitting at home without much to do. He still dreams of that day where he was so close to realizing his dream.

One day, a young man named Tim approached him and told him that he has this “Dream Machine”, that people who use it will be able to relive their dreams one last time. Paul thought, “why not?” He got into the dream machine and there he was, standing there again on the field, young again, full with energy and at the batting stand. He finally would be able to live his dream.

At that moment, Tim and his brother, who was also in the dream was watching Paul play. His brother, who could never understand what all the hype about baseball was, accidently knocked a little girl off the stand and she fell down and turned blue.

Immediately, Tim and his brother called for help… We need a doctor!

At this moment, Paul who was about to strike a home run, heard the call of distress. He immediately sprinted as fast as he could towards the little girl.  As he was about to cross the pitch line, the line of no return, he realized that if he saved the girl who would never get a second chance at his dream ever again.

At this point, he didn’t have to think anymore. He immediately crossed the line and saved the little girl.

Back out of the dream machine, Tim apologized because he destroyed Paul’s chances of being a baseball superhero. He destroyed his dream once again. Paul smiled and looked at Tim and said, I might have lost my dream, but I lived my destiny. :)

What can we learn from this? Are we living our destiny? Are we giving ourselves the opportunities to live life to the full?

As for me, I realized that finances were an important factor in my goal. It was because of that I embarked on my journey to financial freedom through home businesses.

How To Become A Superhero Right Away

You guys might remember this amazing sequence from Spiderman 2.

Now why did I ask you to watch it? Its because I wanted to point out something here.

Did you notice how Spiderman risked his life and gave everything he got to save the people on the train? He did it because he knew he had  the power to and was capable of doing so.

And this, was the reason why I started my career in internet marketing. You see, I have a goal. I want to help others live their lives to the full potential. I wanted to give people the time and money freedom so that they can live their life’s passion without holding back and give their fullest gifts the the world. And that is why, I have devoted my time and energy to teach internet marketing through writing articles, blog posts and engaging in discussions.

My sincerest apologies for the lack of updates. I recently took sometime off to focus on building one of my long term passive incomes.
But rest assured, over the next few weeks I will be posting REAL STUFF that are going to skyrocket your home businesses to success.
Speaking of success, I’m quite sure everyone of us has our own definition of success.

Do you guys want to know what is the secret to success? I’m going to tell you now. Its knowing exactly what you want, taking steps to achieve it and when something doesn’t work,  constantly tweak your method until you see improvement. This can apply to anything from mowing the lawn to dating women. It sounds bloody obvious but the fact of the matter is, nobody is doing it. If you aren’t achieving any of your goals I suggest its time to reflect on why you aren’t achieving anything and perhaps setting more reasonable goals for yourself to reach.

For example, if you want to succeed in internet businesses, start taking steps everyday that will move you forward to your goal. For example, you may not be good at copywriting but you want to sell products on your site. So either you go and learn copywriting skills or you get PLR products,. It’s that simple. Be awfully honest with yourself on why aren’t you achieving your goals and act on it
