My friend “AP”, just joined a multi-level marketing company that sells online education courses for kids. She was just telling me how much money I can make with this new business opportunity and wanted to share with me the business model.

I kindly rejected her as I already had my hands full and asked her back instead:

“Hey, since we are on the topic of MLMs, would you be interested in  jump starting your network marketing business?”

“How so?” She asked.

Well, I happen to own an online network marketing training course, which I feel would greatly benefit you. It’s written by some of the top network marketers in the industry and It can definitely help you avoid many of the biggest pitfalls in network marketing. (pitching)

(I happen to own a collection of Network Marketing PLR products in my hard drive. Since she’s relatively new to the MLM scene, she was the perfect prospect!)

“How much does the course cost?”She asked.

“Well, I normally the product costs $97, but because we’re good friends I’ll sell it to you for $27.” (price slashing)

All of a sudden, there was a sudden reversal of roles and I was the one selling her!

It seemed like a no-brainer- Getting something that would jump start her business and help her avoid the mistakes of others at a dirt cheap price. Afterall, she already invested quite a sum in this business, so what’s another $27?

As she was about to fork out the cash, I told her I was only joking with her and I’d give it to her for free. I’m not here to make a quick buck, but I seriously wish for her to succeed and I know my books will help her. (guilt-trapping)

I then followed up by asking her, “How would you like to make some easy cash by working together with me? Try the product, and if you like it, for each friend you refer to my online course, i’ll share with you 50% of the profits”. (affiliate/JV recruitment)

I felt it was a match made in heaven. I’d produce the whole online course using my PLR products and marketing resources, and she’ll bring in leads through her contacts in the network marketing industry. Furthermore, she could recommend all newcomers or downlines she recruit to this online course and make more money on top of her business!

So you see, online marketing is actually really similar to real world pitching. The skills you online learn will equip you with the life skills you need to survive in the world’s highly competitive market.

Adding audio products to your online businesses is a great way to create additional income because you can price them higher due to its higher perceived value when compared to e-books. People will also start to take you more seriously because you set the bar higher by not just selling normal e-books.

Here’s a few interesting ideas for using audio products in your business.

-Compile a series of meditation audios and sell them as a full meditation course. You can start a blog that
talks about the benefits of meditation and offer interesting articles on meditation to attract customers
that will be interested in your meditation course.

-Use your audio products as an opt-in gift to collect subscribers. You can gift them a sample and sell them the full package later on give them the full package and sell them other related products. Remember, the money is in the list  so it might be worth giving them something first in exchange for their emails.

-Give your followers a daily audio affirmation for one week and sell them a complete audio affirmations package
at the end of the week. This approach pre-sells the prospects on the benefit of audio affirmations, and if they
dig it they’ll more likely snap your offer.

-If you have a package of audio products which are related to one another (under the same niche), you can cross-sell your customers with products of interest. For example, if you are in the personal development niche, you can sell them meditation courses, relaxing sounds and binural beats because they are closely related and offer the same benefit.

-Use your audio products as an upsell. For example, if you are selling an affirmation module for $47, you can backend the product with a set of audio affirmations for $67 to double or triple your profits! Audio products have a higher perceived value than text format so you can usually charge them more for it (or less as a special bonus for purchasing the main product).

-Give, and you shall receive. No harm just giving away your products to your subscribers because you are sincere about helping them achieve their goals and solve their problems. In any case, they’ll love you for it and more likely respond to your offers in the future.

Now, we all know the importance of having a huge, responsive email list. Your email list is essentially your gold mine. Getting your website’s visitors emails are important because most (99%) of people who come to your site will forget about it after they leave unless they bookmark it or subscribe to your feed OR you have some really good, original content.

But more often than not, you need to have a substantial list that you can cultivate and monetize eventually. And when I mean monetize, PLEASE – Don’t treat your list as a spamming hole. Your job as a marketer is to provide genuine value and useful content to the people who whole-heartedly gave their emails to you.

Ok, that being said. Here’s how to build a budding email list which is huge.

STEP 1: Have a useful “Opt-in Gift”

Something that your target market wants. You want to give them something that is a prelude to something that you intend to sell one day. It could be a free chapter of an amazing e-book or just tips to solve a huge problem in your niche.

STEP 2: Give, give GIVE!

You have their emails. Now its time to be Santa Claus and give them lots of presents for being good subscribers. Of course don’t just spam them with gifts. It’s getting harder and harder to even give away free e-books. Give them something they want! If you want to know what they want, do some research to understand your market or just ask them politely.

STEP 3: Draw tons of traffic to your site

The other day, I wrote an article on the basics of drawing traffic. Use it if you haven’t already. Besides that, you might want to consider alternative traffic generation methods such as paid advertising, social media or link exchanges with fellow marketers in the same niche.

The fastest way to get new leads

I came across this shortcut to getting new leads fast. I’m sure you’ve heard of it, it’s called an Ad Swap. Which means, you send a promo email of another person’s squeeze page and he/she sends a promo email of yours. That way, you exchange subscribers and get new leads and customers. It’s that simple!

But where do you find ad swap partners?

The hard way would be to go around searching for blogs in the same niche as you and ask them. The problem is, you don’t really know if they can be trusted or their list is as big as they say it is.

The easy way? I came across this site which i’ve been using every now and then to build my list.

The good part is, ad swap partners have to verify their list sizes within the site (they have their way). Searching for partners is as easy as A-B-C through their ad-swap partner search engine. You can try it for free. You’ll get a few free swaps but in order to do more swaps in the future and to verify your list you’ll have to subscribe to a small fee. It’s definitely worth it though, because you can build your list in a much faster time. Also, if you verify your list, people will be more willing to do swaps with you because they can trust your list size. It’s a win-win situation! Genius!

Today’s lesson is about getting your first visitor to your blog (besides your mom ). Don’t worry if you have yet to get all aspects of your blog up and running (Opt in box, pages etc). The goal here is to get you to focus on one aspect of traffic generation so that you will feel more motivated once you see visitors pouring into your site.

Ramit Sethi in his blog I Will Teach You To Be Reach teaches that if you want to receive tangible results, your results must be measurable. Therefore, I highly recommend you signup for a Google Analytics account so you can monitor your daily traffic.

Google Analytics will allow you to see how many unique visitors come to your site and what are your main traffic sources. I will post up a video soon on how to setup your Google Analytics account on your WordPress blog but for now, let’s start drawing some traffic!

The simplest and most easy way to draw free traffic is to do submissions to article directories. How it works is like this:

Let’s say you are in the Debt reduction niche. You want to draw visitors to your Debt Reduction blog and turn them into your long term customers. To do that, you post articles related to reducing debt such as Debt reduction tips or money saving tips to Article Submission Directories.

Article submission directories are websites where people can post articles in exchange for traffic. These websites can give you lots of traffic because:

1) Their site is huge due to the amount of articles posted daily. This makes it the perfect resource for people looking for articles.

2) They rank very highly on search engines. So if you post an article on one of these websites, so will your article as well.

3) Article directories allow you to include a resource box at the end of your article. This will allow you to promote your blog and link back to your blog.

In short, article submission will help you get targeted visitors to your blog. What happens when they reach your blog is another story. Your blog has to be full of useful content and able to catch your visitor’s emails through opt-in boxes so that you can keep in touch with them even after they have left.

Your action plan:

1) Brainstorm 10 titles for articles related to your niche which you can use as articles to be submitted to those article directories above.

2) Submit one article daily.

How do you like the blog’s new look?

The blog was quite dead for sometime I must admit, but now i’m bringing it back to life again! Here are the reasons I changed the blog layout:

-Too much clutter, i’m going for the minimalist design now.

-I want to focus on blog posts and content to give the best to my readers.

-Big fonts and clear background make it easier to digest things.

-Much easier to browse topics on the menu bar on the right.

-Organised my social media sharing tools for blog posts (hint: share your favourite posts)

-Colorful pictures will stand out more.

-Most importantly: Change the whole focus of my blog and business.

HomeBizBlogExpert will now focus solely on helping novices and begginers who need help with starting their online business.

So if you’re already an expert and earning lots of money online, this blog isn’t for you.

However, I do strongly appreciate it if you would send any of your friends who need help with starting out their businesses here
